First Parade

Alisa went to her first parade yesterday. It was the Winter Festival downtown so they lit the Christmas lights in the trees on Park Avenue and then had a 3K Jingle Bell Run, entertainment, food vendors and a parade.

We got there an hour before the parade and Alisa was ready for a nap by the time it started. She couldn't sleep because of all the cheering and sirens so Craig and I took turns holding her up so she could see the lights, horses, people, floats and cars going by. After awhile, a lady and a girl moved in front of us but they kept looking back at Alisa and making sure to leave a space for her to look through (the lady kept saying, "The baby needs to see...we can't block the baby's view!"). Very thoughtful. Alisa spent a lot of time looking at the baby behind us and at the large button on my sweater coat. She was so tired, but didn't cry until near the end (45 minutes later) so we decided to leave early to beat the crowd. She started dozing off as soon as we started walking and then was totally asleep once we were driving home (ahh, the soothing sounds and movement of the car).

Very tired girl:
