Back Home

We made it home from Tulsa on Saturday afternoon. We drove from 10:30 PM Friday until 2:30 PM Saturday (Tulsa time) so it was a 16 hour drive. Alisa slept all night and we only had to stop twice during the day to feed her (once while getting gas and once while eating lunch). She did very well (no crazy crying at the end like last time) and it was a smooth ride without any delays. Whew!

Here is Alisa going back to sleep in bed with Daddy after waking up too early in the Pack 'N Play on our last day in Tulsa:

We had a nice time in Tulsa but Alisa was not totally herself so things were a bit tricky and frustrating at times. She freaked out on Christmas Eve and we ended up leaving my aunt & uncle's house early because she would not stop crying hard and really just needed to go to bed. Who can blame her for being fussy though as she was bombarded with so many new people and places for 3 entire weeks and also caught a fever and stuffy/runny nose from her cousin?

We are all happy to be home sleeping in our own beds once again and Alisa was happy to see her toys and Minga. We have been enjoying the warm weather (75 degrees compared to the 25 degrees in Tulsa). Alisa doesn't have to wear socks now, which is nice because in Tulsa they just kept falling off all the time (even the really long ones).

Here is Alisa riding her Playskool Step Start Walk 'n Ride toy for the first time:

Alisa started going to bed earlier this week (8 or 8:30 PM) and therefore has been waking up earlier (just before 8:00 AM). This is a bit unexpected since she was still living on Tallahassee time while in Tulsa for 3 weeks so it's not like she needed to adjust her schedule once she returned home. Maybe her New Year's resolution was to rise earlier and have more productive days--ha!

My sister Karen rode to Tallahassee with us, stayed most of the week at our house and is catching a flight home tomorrow. Alisa really enjoyed playing and laughing with Aunt Karen...she's a great aunt!

WELCOME HOME FRIEND!! I know all about them meeting new people and being unlike themselves - I dealt with that at Christmas too. I am glad you guys are back home and everything is back to normal!!!
