Ew Poo!

Alisa usually poops twice in the morning and that's it for the day. Today she still hadn't pooped and it was almost morning naptime so I let her play for 15 more minutes hoping she'd poop. She did! I went to change her diaper and it was a messy one. I think I do things opposite of most people and hold her legs with my right hand and wipe her with my left. Craig does the same as her changing table is set up with the wipes on the left so we put her head on the right. I think we started doing it that way because of how her bassinet was positioned in the hospital (it was easier that way).

Anyway, she usually doesn't mind me holding her legs but today she did. She got them free and one landed in the poopie diaper that had been rolled up some but was so messy that her foot still made contact with some poop. And it wasn't just her heel that landed in it...it was her toes...ALL of her toes! I quickly wiped them off with a wet wipe before finishing with wiping her bottom. She kept trying to grab her feet and somehow they slipped out of my grasp again and her other foot got poop on it (again, it was the toes) and THEN she managed to touch the poopie toes with her fingers before I could get to them. Oh yeah, AND the poop got under my long thumbnail somehow. Aaarrrrggghhhh!

I eventually got her all wiped off and put the clean diaper on. She started to go for her thumb because it was naptime but I pulled it away and rushed to the bathroom to wash her hands and feet with soap and water. Normally we just throw her in the bathtub after a fiasco like that (which hasn't happened in awhile) but it was her naptime. I already had plans to bathe her later today. It took awhile to wash and dry each extremity as I was trying not to get the rest of her or me wet. She was fascinated by it and didn't struggle, so that helped. Well now she is clean and asleep in her bed. Whew. I'm going to go eat lunch.
