I finally remembered to take Alisa to story time at the library last week. We had a good time and wanted to go again this week but we can't because Alisa has a funny nose, cough and possibly a slight fever. Story time is at 10:30 AM on Tuesdays through Fridays at a few different libraries. The library closest to us has it on Wednesdays so we will try to go to that one for sure, rather than going downtown that day and dealing with the parking issue.
There were about 50 kids (age 3 and under) plus 1 or 2 parents per kid in the story time room. There was still room for more though. The librarian read books, played songs on a CD, recited some rhymes with motions and did a puppet show at the end. The puppet show was about taking a bath and halfway through it, the hidden bubblemaker turned on and blew bubbles from the stage bathtub into the crowd. The kids went wild. It was the highlight of the half hour.
Alisa enjoyed the music and the bubbles the most. During the stories, she spent a lot of time looking at the older girl who was sitting next to us. The girl kept coming over and talking jibberish to us and gently touching Alisa. She was cute. Towards the end of story time, Alisa wanted something to chew on so I pulled out her teething ring and a few other things.
