Alisa took her first unassisted steps almost 2 weeks ago and only a couple here and there since then. I was sitting on the floor in the living room a little while ago looking at how curly her hair was at the time (because it was raining earlier this evening). She was standing next to me holding a little duck toy. She suddenly had this look about her as she looked forward and to the floor at her toys across the room so I watched expectantly. My suspicions were correct--she had been contemplating taking some steps. She took 2 steps forward and then, to my surprise, she took 2 sideways and kept her balance. She stood for a few seconds and then took another step forward. (Is there a dance that has that particular step pattern? Haha.)
Craig came upstairs because he heard me talking about her walking and as soon as she saw him, she dove towards me and landed in my lap. She does that sometimes when Craig or Minga come into the room because she's excited to see them (she looks back at them after landing on me and then usually moves towards them). Craig wrestled with Alisa for a minute and then asked her to take steps towards him while I put the laundry in the dryer. I peeked around the doorway and saw her take a couple more steps. So cute!
