The 3rd tooth on the bottom has cut through on her left side! It snuck up on me because it didn't give her any trouble (no waking in the night, no heavy crying or even fussy evenings--whew). I had been thinking how it has been 2 months since she cut a tooth and that another one was due soon. I first saw this one today at the pediatrician's office when she was crying hard while being held down on the table so the nurse could try one last time to check her temperature in her ear because she was squirming too much with me just holding her upright. So this is tooth #7. The past few days she has enjoyed making new sounds by putting her tongue under her top teeth and blowing air through (like a light "th" sound, as in "thank").
I started brushing her teeth 3 months ago when I saw that she had a bit of a Cheerio stuck between her 2 bottom teeth. She let me brush her teeth (no toothpaste) just fine for a few weeks (though she kept trying to lick the toothbrush the 1st few times). Then, for awhile she didn't want me to do it and would keep her mouth shut and turn her head away. So, I got out an extra, unused toothbrush and showed her how I brush my teeth (no toothpaste though). She was interested then and would brush her teeth while I was brushing my teeth and then she'd let me brush hers. The past 2 days she has been really good and has let me brush and brush and brush them, even the top ones which are harder to get to. I hope this behavior continues because it makes my job easier!
