Alisa's First Pool

I'd been thinking about getting a little pool for Alisa for many months, but didn't decide on what kind I wanted until last week. I decided to get one that is big enough for me to sit in as well because when I'm watching her splash in the pool in the heat of the day, I'm going to want to get wet too. The pool I bought is hexagonal shaped, which is so cool. We actually have a few hexagonal shaped things (2 chairs and a table) at our house so it was fun to be able to add to the collection. The sides of the pool are wide and sturdy enough for an adult to sit on. It has clear sides with pictures of fish and other sea creatures on the inside AND outside (I didn't want to get a pool that only had them on the outside because then Alisa would hardly get to see and enjoy them).

Unfortunately, it's been raining every day since I bought the pool. The first day it rained hard. The 2nd day it was sunny in the morning so we decided to inflate the pool and set it up. We inflated it and then swept the deck and laid out a tarp for it to sit on. Just as we finished that, it started raining. We brought the pool back inside because Alisa had enjoyed playing in it right after we inflated it (before we took it outside). It has been cloudy and rainy ever since so the pool is still in our living room (though it now has some of her stuffed animals in it). It doesn't leave much walking room, but it makes a nice foot rest for either the La-Z-Boy or the couch. Hopefully the weather will clear up soon so we can put it outside, fill it up and let the sun warm the water up a bit. I'll post more pictures once we get it set up.

Snuggling with Mommy and stuffed animals in the pool:

On the 3rd day, Alisa kept bumping against the sides of the pool (on purpose), falling down and then rolling around in the pool and laughing just before a nap. Here she is stopping for a break to suck her thumb (her #1 sign that she's ready for a nap):
