Play Date at Lake Ella

Alisa and I met up with Lisa and Emma at Lake Ella today because they were in town for an appointment (they live 45 minutes away). Lisa and I first met at the childbirth education class back before our daughters were born. We exchanged info but didn't get together for many many months because then we were so busy feeding our newborns, dealing with their reflux issues and adjusting to motherhood. Anyway, we've randomly run into each other at stores, the circus and seen each other at some monthly playgroups and now every Saturday at our girls' swim lessons.

At the lake, we sat on an oversized towel in the shade and our girls played with toys until they noticed the ducks. Once they saw the ducks, they had to go after them. The quickly ducks retreated to the safety of the water. Alisa kept wanting to go in the water but I couldn't let her because no one is allowed to swim there (it's more like a pond in the middle of town). Alisa especially enjoyed seeing turtles swimming near the shore and dogs walking along the trail around the lake. We finished our play date by pushing the girls in strollers around the lake while drinking iced coffee drinks from the nearby coffee shop. The weather was quite warm but there was a nice breeze so we didn't get all gross and sweaty.
