Pretending
I fill out an Infant-Toddler Checklist that the local First Words Project sends me every few months. It is used to determine if Alisa is developing properly. If not, she can get the help she needs early on. One of the questions is "Does your child pretend to play with toys? (for example, feed a stuffed animal, put a doll to sleep)" and 2 months ago I marked "sometimes". On the next checklist that arrives, I will mark "often" because she has been pretending a lot these days. She started by pretending to feed or give her large bunny a drink of water from her sippy cup. Then she gave her baby dolls their tiny bottle and tiny sippy cup. Today she pretended to feed me using her small pink beach shovel as a spoon and a round sand sifter as a bowl. She kept saying "Mmm mmm mmmm!" and "Yum yum yum yum!" So precious!
