Alisa's First Time Sledding

Since we live in Florida, we don't ever get to play in the snow (or even see it) unless we travel somewhere else. We are currently visiting family in Oregon and finally got a chance to play in the snow because it accumulated a bit. Alisa's seen some snow falling before (in Oklahoma and during this trip to Oregon) and walked in a little bit that hadn't melted along the road, but this was her first time to actually play in the snow. She loved it, after a short time of getting used to it. At first all she wanted to do was eat it...then, after a while she enjoyed other aspects of it.

We both had puffy coats that made us seem like puffy marshmallows (Alisa didn't have a warm coat since we don't really need them in Florida so I found her this one for $4 at a consignment shop just before we flew to Oregon--it is size 2T so the sleeves were a bit long, but that just meant she didn't have to wear gloves all the time):

She spent a lot of time eating the snow:

The snow kept falling while we were outside:

Cousin Daniel pulled Alisa around the yard in the sled:

Then I pulled Alisa and Daniel around the yard:

Daddy pulled Alisa up the very small sledding hill in the neighborhood (we didn't have time to drive to a big sledding hill):

And down she went with a smile:

Alisa became more adventurous and slid down the hill on her pants while Daniel took a turn with the sled:
