Birthday Party!

Alisa's birthday party was at Happy Trails Ranch from 10 AM - 12:30 PM today. She was born the day before Easter and her party was the day before Easter. The weather was perfect. The theme was The Backyardigans (Alisa's favorite show) so we had Backyardigans table cloths, cups, plates, napkins, balloons, hanging decorations, automatic bubble blowers and various party favors (books, cards, paint with water cards, whistles, stickers, bubbles). 8 kids came to the party (we invited 17 but many were out of town for Easter weekend and 2 got sick a day or two before the party). In attendence were Ander, Benjamin, Erin, Hayden (all the way from Alabama!), Ian, Lilah, Preston and Sophie...so that's 4 girls and 4 boys.

Alisa and her long-time buddy Benjamin enjoy the bubbles while waiting for the other guests to arrive:

The first activity was feeding the horses so here we are getting a handful of clean hay:

The first horse we fed lunged at us and freaked Alisa out so much that she didn't really want to feed any more horses (she still liked looking at the horses and holding the hay when away from them):

Then there were cat tricks:

And dog tricks:

Food is ready to be consumed as soon as the hayride ends:

Alisa rode the first horse before eating lunch (there were 2 horses available to ride):

Eating lunch (chicken nuggets and fruit salad from Chick-Fil-A, cheese pizza baked at home, cheese slices and juice boxes from grocery store):

Eating and riding the horses as we pleased (It must be noted that Alisa was a total angel and sat happily eating her lunch and dessert at the table for well over half an hour--she ended up not riding the horse again because she was so content to slowly eat her food and talk and sing at the table):

The Backyardigans cupcake cake from Wal-Mart:

Blowing out the 2 happy face candles:

Licking the bottom of Pablo the penguin figure from the cake:

Enjoying the green frosting:

Souvenirs and treats from the owner of the ranch (little plastic horses and Smarties):
