Ha, that's sounds like the name of a radio station--101.8 The Fever! Anyway, Alisa has been sick all week. At first she just had a cough and runny nose. Her cough has gotten worse as the days have gone by but her nose has been about the same (just a little clear drippage throughout the day). Yesterday, she had a loose stool that ran down her leg while playing in the living room. That was a mess to clean up! It had dripped on the carpet and was pooled in her pants between her diaper and onesie. Thankfully, it didn't stain her white outfit because I washed it right away!
She came over to me and pointed at the brown stuff running down her leg. She didn't realize it was poop and I didn't dare mention that it was because she would have freaked. I rushed her outside while calmly saying "Oh, what a mess! Where did that come from? Let's get you cleaned up". There were 2 beverage tubs full of water on the front porch where Alisa had been playing with water balloons and toys. I stood her in one of those and removed her dirty onesie and diaper. I poured cups of water on her butt and legs to rinse off the poop. I got the soap and was going to bathe her in the tubs but realized there was too much poop floating around in the water in both tubs and it would be too much of a hassle to dump out the water, rinse and refill. So then I took her upstairs to the bathtub. I thoroughly washed her legs and butt with soap while she was wimpering "Minga, help me! Help me, Minga!" It was sad (because she was crying) but funny (because she was calling for our dog). Minga was out with Craig so that made it even stranger that she asked for Minga's help since she couldn't see or hear her.
Tonight she had a fever 101.8. She asked to go upstairs and read books at 8 PM, which meant she was ready for bed (she usually stays up until 8:30 or 9 PM). I read a few books and she said "Ticky back" because she just wanted to go to sleep and that's her way of saying she's ready. We always gently tickle her back for a song or two after we put her in bed. She loves it.
I pray that her fever is down in the morning and that she gets all better fast. She's hardly eaten any food all week. It's so sad to see her sick and her frequent crying is hard to listen to. I miss her normal happy self. She's so much cuter when she smiles.
