Slurping Milk

Alisa ate a good breakfast today. Most mornings in the past few weeks she has not wanted to sit in her highchair to eat (she wants to eat in the living room). Sometimes I'll let her eat in the living room if it's something that is not messy (grapes, bread, cereal bar, etc.). There are certain things she knows she must eat in her highchair though because they are too messy (yogurt, oatmeal, most fruit).

Today she asked for frozen blueberries (her obsession this week) so I put her in her highchair and she ate a ton of them. She talked about lining them up before eating them but didn't end up doing it as she did yesterday:

She asked if she could have some of my oatmeal so I gave her some. Then she asked for more oatmeal and then more blueberries. I had finished eating all of my oatmeal so I made her some more. After she finished all of that she asked for MORE oatmeal and MORE blueberries. I was excited to see her eating so much because she hasn't been doing that as much lately (she lost a pound in the past month or two). After she finished eating what was on her tray and in her bowl, she asked for milk in her bowl. She said she wanted to slurp more milk (I had put quite a bit of milk in her last bowl of oatmeal and she discovered she could slurp it). I was thrilled that she was asking to drink more milk since she doesn't drink it much so I gave her some more. She slurped it all up and asked for more. I gave her quite a bit more and she slurped and slurped and then began to get very messy. She was blowing bubbles in it and it was splattering all over her face and tray. I had to tell her she was being a bit too messy and that once she was finished with that bowl of milk that I'd clean her off and get her down. She carefully slurped the rest of it. It was a happy and fun breakfast.
