Making Up Stories

A few days ago Alisa was making up stories. She'd hold her hands like an open book and say, "Once upon a time, there were 3 ducks...." as she pretended to read her invisible book. Then she'd say maybe a sentence or two and then start over with another animal "Once upon a time, there were 3 pigs..." This went on for many many animals.

She did it again today as I was putting her down for a nap only this time it was one long, continuous story. Here's what I remember from the story today (it's not word for word, but you'll get the gist of it).....

"Once upon a time, there were 3 pumpkins. They saw a ghost but he was a nice ghost. Then they went down the lane to eat. They saw the moon and it hugged the pumpkins because it had arms. Then the pumpkins saw 3 cows who said, 'We want arms so we can hug you.' Then the pumpkins saw 3 doggies who said, 'We want arms so we can hug you'...."

....and it went on and on with various animals wanting arms. The last animal was a flamingo and after that she said, "The end. That was a good story."

Next time I'm going to have to have my camera rolling because it was so cute and hilarious!
