Alisa Makes Cookies for the First Time

Alisa helped me make gingerbread cookies tonight. I was going to have her help me make the dough, but ended up doing it myself since the dough had to chill for 4 hours before we could cut out the shapes. She helped with everything else though--rolling the dough, cutting the dough with cookie cutters, putting the shapes on the baking stones with a spatula and decorating the baked cookies with frosting. She enjoyed it all and finally got to wear the little apron I bought for her at a craft show last year.

After all the cookies were frosted I said, "We need to figure out where to put all these cookies!" (meaning, what container would be large enough to store them all). Alisa immediately said, "Um...in my mouth!" I had to laugh at that! A few minutes later she was saying, "Cookies belong in my tummy! I eat them!" I let her eat 2 and she really wanted more but I had to say no as it was almost bedtime and she certainly didn't need more than 2. Usually, she only gets 1 cookie whenever we are eating them.

How perfect is this shirt for making gingerbread cookies?:
