Long Nap

I went grocery shopping this evening and when I came home Alisa was sleeping in Craig's lap. He said she had napped for the usual 30 minutes in her crib and then woke up and cried and cried till he got her (that's usually what happens after her evening nap...after other naps she will play and talk in her crib for another 15+ minutes and not cry at all). He cuddled with her in the living room while watching football. She soon fell asleep on his lap and I came home almost an hour later at 7:30 PM. I cooked and ate dinner while she slept and then Craig passed her off to me so he could eat (we had spaghetti so that is too messy to eat while holding a baby, even a sleeping baby). Alisa was in a deep sleep so she wasn't disturbed by anything.

She slept until 9:15 PM (3+ hour nap) when we were beginning to wonder if she was even going to wake up before morning. I was wondering how things would go down if I changed her diaper and put her in pajamas in that state, but she saved me from that dilemma and woke up. She was all smiles and wiggled around on my lap for awhile. She kept patting and lying on the soft blanket that I had bunched up on the other side of my lap (it was like she was treating it as a stuffed animal). It was soooo cute.

I changed her and then Craig fed her while I cleaned up the kitchen. Then Alisa played with the new ball we got her today. She batted at it, patted it, leaned on it, sucked on it and chased it around the room--oh she had a blast! She ended up going to bed just before 11 PM (late!) so I'm hoping she'll sleep in tomorrow.
