Man
Alisa has been learning the word "man" lately. Today we went to Wal-Mart after the weekly playgroup because it was right across the street and we needed yogurt and bananas. It was 3 PM and wasn't crowded. Alisa said "man" when she saw one. I was excited and then proceeded to point out every man that we saw in the aisles so she'd say it again and again (we were on a man hunt--ha!). When she finally saw a woman (yep there were more men than women there at that time) she hesitated and I said "that's a lady." So then I labeled everyone as "man" or "lady." I figured I'd teach her "lady" before "woman" because in my mind I hear phrases like "Say thank you to the nice lady" and also I think her trying to say "woman" at first might sound like her trying to say "water" since she just says the "wa" part now.
