Physical Developments

Alisa can help herself in many ways now. She can get on and off the couch and living room chairs, she can go up and down the stairs, she can get paper and crayons from their usual places and she can spoon feed herself (to name a few).

She loves standing on anything and everything (the more precarious, the better). She stands chairs, couches, books, paper, magazines, coasters, cookie cooling racks, my feet, our wooden coffee table bowls, and various toys, including her riding car and a round pool noodle. She turns her play table upside down and stands on that (we discourage her from doing that because we don't want her to break it). She climbs up and stands up on the coffee table when we aren't looking (she especially loves this one because it makes her feel much taller). It's quite amusing to watch her go from one item to the next when she's in the mood to stand on anything and everything.

She turned her Tinker Bell arm chair on it's side (it's less stable that way and therefore more fun) on my birthday and stood on it till she fell and then did it all again:

Every couple of weeks I have to take the rechargeable batteries out of her waterfall soother crib toy to recharge them. Alisa likes to help now by handing me the new batteries to put in (so she can use it during her nap while the main batteries are still charging). Well, this last time, I put everything on the bed (soother, new batteries, screwdriver) and grabbed a Kleenex to blow my nose. She grabbed the screwdriver and proceeded to try to unscrew the back. It was really cute. I helped her unscrew and remove it and I pulled out the batteries. She then tried to put the other batteries in (I say "tried" because she couldn't actually push them down in, but she did set them in the correct spots). Then I let her help put the cover back on and screw the 2 screws. Tada!
