Sleeping in Our Bed

Alisa woke up crying around 3 AM last night. Craig went up to comfort her. She was crying and saying her word for Minga so we think she had a bad dream about Minga. Craig showed her that Minga was okay (sleeping on the floor) and brought her to our room. He put her in our bed and I pretended to be asleep so she wouldn't wake up too much and want to play with me. She tossed and turned for an hour and kept spreading her legs and draping them over us. I was hot so I kept sticking my legs out from under the covers to try to cool off.

I was not able to fall back asleep with Alisa in the bed with us. I wasn't afraid of squishing her (as I was the one other time she slept in our bed when she was sick at a few months old), but I did worry about what would happen in the morning when I got out of bed to take a shower. I figure she'd either wake up and cry because I left the room or keep sleeping and possibly roll off the bed (she really moves around a lot) while I was in the shower and Craig was still sleeping. Anyway, after about an hour, she pushed up from her stomach onto her arms and looked over me and at the glowing alarm clock on my nightstand. Then she flopped over onto Craig's chest. He put his arms around her, picked her up and took her upstairs to her bed. She cried dada a few times when he put her in her bed but then she was quiet. It was fun having her in bed with us (and cute hearing her suck her thumb by my head) but I was glad that she was back in her own bed so I could get some sleep.

How funny, I had the SAME experience last night. I only lasted 20 minutes though before carting her back to her bed! How times have changed huh?
