Alisa says, "Me, Mommy!" when she wants me to do something, like draw or color something for her. She holds out the pen or crayon as she says it. She used to just say "Me!" for that, which she got from me always asking, "Do you want me to do it?"
This week she started saying, "Thank you! I welcome!" when she takes something she can't usually have (sticky notes, my pen, my paper, Minga's bone). It cracks me up. She's politely taking charge to try to get her way, hoping that we will let her get away with it.
She says, "No, Minga! That's bad!" when Minga is trying to eat her snack or something else she shouldn't be doing. She also says that to her little stuffed dog Bow Wow and to her little dog bath toys. She squeezed her squirty bath dogs and water came out on the edge of the tub. She said, "No, doggie! That's bad!" and wiped up the water with the little washcloth that came with the dogs. She repeated that over and over, reprimanding the dog each time. I had to laugh.
At Wal-Mart this week, Alisa heard a guy shouting, "Walk it out! Walk it out!" in the next aisle so she said, "Walk it out!" too. Then, she repeated something she heard on the TV as we passed by. It was funny and impressive but makes me aware that we need to really be careful with what she hears now.
