Here are some normal happenings for Alisa:
When trying to read a book she says, "I don't know the words. Maybe I get older I learn the words. I'm not older yet."
When she wants me to turn the car A/C up to full blast so she can feel it in her mouth when she opens it she says, "Turn it louder! I want to eat air!"
She likes to find one flower or flower petal for herself and then one for me--she says, "It's a present for Mommy."
For many many months now, Alisa often pretends to take my picture as she looks through the bottom of her see-through juice cup. She says, "Smile, Mommy!"
Recently, she started asking for permission to sleep in the car when we are coming home from dinner or the store. Then she sucks her thumb and closes her eyes for a few minutes. She hasn't actually fallen asleep in the car around town recently.
She asks for permission to throw food to Minga from her highchair and then she says, "Catch!" to Minga as she throws it (we rarely say yes).
She really loves Minga and often says, "Oh Minga, I love you!" and "Minga's my friend." And she hugs and pats her. The other day she told me to pat Minga too.
It's neat to listen to Alisa recall conversations she had with Daddy when I was out of the room or house. I can't think of a specific example right now but it usually goes something like this: She'll say, "Daddy said _______ so I cried and said _______ and then Daddy said _______ and then I was happy." (Note: her crying was because he said she couldn't have something she wanted, not that he said something mean).
