Alisa pretended that we were all butterflies this evening. She said that she was a blue butterfly, Daddy was a purple butterfly, Mommy was a red butterfly and Minga was a yellow butterfly. Before she said my or Minga's color I asked if I could be a yellow butterfly but she said, "No, you are a red butterfly." She repeated our colors a few times throughout the evening.
Then, when we were snuggling in the dark after reading bedtime stories, she added that Steev, Lori and Ander (the family we just spent a weekend with in Destin) were butterflies too. She mentioned Ander (her 3-year-old friend) first but had a hard time deciding what color butterfly he was. She finally decided on pink. Then she said, "Ander's mom is an orange butterfly." She also had a hard time deciding what color Ander's dad was but she finally said he was a black butterfly. I just had to chuckle about the whole thing. It was nice that she included their family.
