Alisa really enjoyed it and kept asking for permission to trick-or-treat at the next house. She'd say, "I want to trick-or-treat at this house. Can I? Please! Can I?" We'd say, "Yes, the lights are on, so you can trick-or-treat there." At almost every house she shouted "Pick-or-peat!" (since she can't pronounce the "tr" sound yet) in her cute little voice. Then she'd hold out her hand for candy instead of holding out her pumpkin bucket--that always threw the door answerers off. Then she'd put the candy in her bucket and say, "Thank you!"
We let her have a few pieces of candy after the first couple of houses and she really liked that. She tired quickly of walking though because she did not really nap. After going to most of the houses on the loop (the neighborhood was just one big loop) we headed back to Amy's house where we were going to have cookies and let the kids play. Unfortunately, we had to put Alisa in her pajamas and leave right away because it was after 9 PM and she was cranky from no nap. She cried hard the entire way home and it was just awful (15-20 minute drive). She wanted candy and we said she already had enough and it was too late at night anyway. Then she cried for something to eat and we told her we didn't have anything in the car with us but we would get her something at home. She didn't like having to wait for food so she still cried. Then she cried for me to hold her and I had to explain that I couldn't hold her in the car because she had to stay in her seat. As we pulled into the driveway she was closing her eyes, sucking her thumb and sniffling. Craig took her right upstairs to bed as she had forgotten all about food at that point.
I bought this duck costume last year after Halloween when it was on sale for like $2. So, this is the last year Alisa didn't get to choose what she dressed up as for Halloween. Thankfully, she liked the costume.

Trunk-or-Treating at Faith Presybterian Church (the one with the good pumpkin patch) the day before Halloween. I took Alisa so she could practice saying, "Trick-or-treat!" and she did really well. I got so many comments on how cute she was and how she was the youngest one to actually say "Trick-or-treat!" They were impressed.

Craig had to carry Alisa a lot near the end:
